Vertex Forged Piston Kit, 74.95 mm for Beta and KTM (22978A)

The Vertex 22978A Piston Kit is a forged original-equipment replacement designed for select Beta and KTM motorcycles. Built to replicate the original piston specifications, this kit provides a dependable replacement solution for engine rebuilding, maintenance, and performance restoration. The forged construction delivers the strength and durability needed for demanding off-road and high-performance applications while maintaining compatibility with the intended engine configuration.
The piston is heat-treated using an A-T5 hardening and tempering cycle to improve material strength and resistance to operating stress. Its skirt features a molybdenum disulfide coating that helps reduce friction during initial operation, supports faster break-in, and contributes to extended piston service life. This surface treatment promotes smooth movement within the cylinder while helping protect the piston through repeated heat cycles and changing engine loads.
The Vertex 22978A kit includes the forged piston, piston rings, wrist pin, and circlips needed for installation. The piston and rings are manufactured as OEM replacement components, offering a practical fit and consistent replacement quality when servicing a compatible Beta or KTM engine. Verify the motorcycle application and service requirements before installation to ensure proper fitment and assembly.
