Vertex Forged Piston Kit for Honda CRF450R/RX, 95.97 mm (24187B)

The Vertex 24187B Piston Kit is a forged original-equipment replacement designed for Honda CRF450R and CRF450RX applications. Manufactured to support dependable performance in demanding off-road and motocross environments, this piston provides a precise replacement solution for restoring engine response, compression, and reliability. The kit uses a 95.97 mm piston size and is engineered as a direct-fit component for compatible engines.
The piston is heat-treated using an A-T5 hardening and tempering cycle to improve material strength and durability under high operating temperatures and engine loads. Its skirt features a molybdenum disulfide coating that helps reduce friction during initial operation, supports faster break-in, and contributes to extended piston service life. This coating also promotes smooth movement within the cylinder for consistent engine performance.
The Vertex replica piston and included rings are manufactured as OEM replacements, making the 24187B kit suitable for maintenance, rebuilding, or replacing worn internal engine components. Each kit includes the piston, piston rings, wrist pin, and circlips required for installation. Verify engine compatibility and application details before installation, and follow the manufacturer’s service procedures for cylinder inspection, clearance measurement, ring placement, and break-in.
