Vertex 53.94 mm Piston Kit for Yamaha YZ125 (22224B)

The Vertex Piston Kit, part number 22224B, is a cast original-equipment replacement piston designed for Yamaha YZ125 applications. Manufactured from gravity-cast aluminum alloy with 18% silicone content, this piston delivers dependable performance and consistent fitment for engine rebuilds and routine top-end service. Its cast construction provides a practical replacement solution for riders and technicians seeking reliable OE-style components.
The piston is heat treated using a T-5 hardening and tempering cycle to support strength, durability, and dimensional stability under demanding operating conditions. The piston skirt features a high-tech molybdenum disulfide coating that helps reduce friction during initial operation, promotes faster break-in, and contributes to extended piston life. This coating is especially beneficial when completing a fresh top-end installation and following the manufacturer’s recommended break-in procedure.
This complete Vertex kit includes the piston, piston rings, wrist pin, and circlips, providing the primary components needed for a professional installation. The 53.94 mm piston size is specified for the compatible Yamaha YZ125 application, while the included hardware helps simplify parts selection and preparation. Verify application details, bore requirements, and service specifications before installation to ensure proper compatibility and engine performance.
